The Cave Ricotti is one of the most interesting underground complex of Camerano, both for its unmistakable appearance of the underground church, confirmed by local oral tradition, both for its location within the rock called "Sassone" (Big Stone) beneath the remains the church of St. Apollinaris of Ravenna style, before the year one thousand, attached to the medieval castle.

Also impressive are the architectural details of this cave, entirely carved into the rock that allow for comparison with other ancient tombs in the Mediterranean and in particular with the hermitages of Basilian monks. The latter comparison is invoked by the presence on the ceiling of a Greek cross inscribed in a circle, all in relief.
